Huawei Smartwatch to Unveil in November | Blood Pressure Tracker Included

Previously, there were rumors that Huawei would discontinue its smartwatches that used certain inflatable cuffs to deliver what the manufacturer referred to as medical-grade blood pressure readings. At the moment, even the Apple Watch can provide users with this critical metric.

The FDA has released the official list of products

Recently, a Chinese Weibo tipster known as the “Changan Digital King” revealed that Huawei will be unveiling a brand new smartwatch later this November, 2021. The FDA of Guangdong Province actually released an official list of approved products in October 2021.

The list even includes a medical-grade electrocardiogram (ECG) and a blood pressure monitor. The former now monitors the user’s own heart rhythms, looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Atrial Fibrillation Symptoms

It was described as an unusual rhythm that could be a sign of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). An AFib is a type of abnormal heart pattern that can lead to stroke, heart failure, or other serious heart problems.

The pieces are starting to fall into place, and Huawei’s brand new technology is expected to go through clinical trials within the next six months. According to PhoneArena, the Guangdong FDA has now added Huawei to the list of medical devices seeking priority approval, along with three other devices.

Health-Related Smartwatch Apps

A variety of smartwatches already include health-related features. These, however, are insufficient for providing a diagnosis. According to reports, a number of manufacturers have received a second class certificate for medical equipment related to smartwatch sensors. Huawei, Apple, Huami, and Oppo are among them.

According to a September 2021 report, Huawei was able to register under the name Huawei Watch D with the EUIPO, or European Union Intellectual Property Office. According to reports, the new Huawei watch may include blood oxygen testing as well as the ability to provide blood pressure readings.

Apple Watch Series 8 will be released in 2022

It was noted that buyers may soon see Huawei begin to tease specific information about its own new watch. This is especially true given that previous rumors suggested that a brand new watch would be released in the second half of 2021.

Ming-Chi Kuo, TF International analyst, who can reportedly tell users what the soup of the day is regarding Apple products, claims that the Apple Watch Series 8 will include a specific body temperature sensor, fertility monitor, and an improved irregular heartbeat tool when it launches in 2022. On the official App Store, most Apple health-related apps can now be rated and reviewed.

Kuo speculated that future models might be able to provide blood pressure readings, smartwatch-related features, and non-invasive glucose monitoring.

Apple Watches are now being used to assist a University of Michigan health study in achieving excellent results.
