Chris Rock is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, director, and producer. He was born Christopher Julius Rock III on February 7, 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina, to Julius Rock, a truck driver, and Rosalie Rock, a teacher and social worker. Chris Rock spent his childhood in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. He dropped out of high school at 17 and later received his GED certification. Much is not known about his parents.

Career

Rock began his career as a stand-up comedian and gained prominence with his edgy humor and quick wit.

He has released several comedy albums and won three Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album.

He hosted the Academy Awards twice. Rock created the popular sitcom ‘Everybody Hates Chris’.

Personal Life

Rock was married to Malaak Compton from 1996 to 2016, and they have two daughters together.

He has been involved in various philanthropic efforts, including raising money for Hurricane Katrina relief and supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
