Chris Brown Blasts Grammys

Despite having scored a nomination this year, Chris Brown is not happy with the Grammys.

The singer went on a Twitter rant against the awards show on Friday, writing in several tweets how he feels about the ceremony.

“#GRAMMY? This is probably the main reason I love being free to create any kind of music I want,” he wrote. “Too many people kiss a– and work less.”

Brown said in a since-deleted tweet that the Grammys “used to mean something,” but they no longer do. He also highlighted his latest album “Royalty,” which failed to grab any nominations this year.

“If u turn on ya radio right now I promise within the hour you will hear Chris Brown on damn near half the songs I’ve co-written,” he wrote in another tweet that has also been deleted.

Brown is nominated this year for best rap/song collaboration for “Only” with Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne. The singer ended his rant by thanking his fans.

“I’m thankful to my fans, I am able to be the best I can without having to confirm to the ways of my peers,” he tweeted.

Brown has a long history with the Grammys, having been nominated for 15 awards in the past and taking home the prize for best R&B album in 2012 for “F.A.M.E.” He was also on his way to the ceremony when he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, which led to a much publicized investigation.

The 2016 Grammys will be held on Feb. 15.
