Charles Inojie pays final tribute as late actress Ada Ameh is laid to rest

Ada Ameh, a veteran Nollywood actress who passed away two years after losing her only child, Aladi Godsgift, will today, August 26, be laid to rest.

A video of Ameh in her coffin before being buried in her hometown was shared by Charles Inojie, a colleague who played her on-screen husband in the well-known Nigerian comedy TV series The Johnsons.

The post’s caption reads:

IT’S A WRAP FOR ADA AMEH. There lies a chip of us Deadpan and ice-frozen. There lies a broken heritage

Wrapped in a funeral encasement. In that air-tight wooden bed. Is our naked truth. No matter the differences we nursed

You can never tell. How much of us is in them. There again is a grim call. A charge to everyone. That none is promised tomorrow

That we may live today as the best of days

Spreading love beyond the bounds of our comfortable thresholds. Till the twilights dim on the hour not foretold. When the once sonorous symphony. Fades forever away. On the morbid horizons. Of life’s curtain fall.”

Recall that it had been reported that on August 19, there was a novelty match in Ada Ameh’s honour at Nathaniel Idowu Pitch in Oregie, Lagos, and that the same day, a candlelight procession was held at Teslim Balogun Stadium.

On Thursday, August 25, another candlelight service was held at Saint Mary’s Primary School in Ogobia, Benue State.

A funeral service and interment followed this at her father’s compound in Benue State’s Otupko Local Government.

On Sunday, July 17, Ada Ameh passed away.

Ameh, who portrayed Anita in the 1996 film “Domitilla,” is well known for her comedic roles, particularly in the show The Johnsons.

The well-known actress, who was born on May 15, 1974, in Ajegunle, Lagos, had a daughter at age 14 who tragically passed away in 2020 after a failed operation.
