Beyoncé Teams up with Gucci & Chime For Change

Gucci and Chime For Change have unveiled a partnership with Beyoncé and Unicef USA to help in bringing clean, safe, drinkable water to Burundi.
Just last year Gucci committed $1 million to Beyoncé’s multi-year BeyGood4Burundi initiative launch with Unicef USA to help support programs that work hard to improve water, sanitation and basic hygiene necessities in parts of Africa that get little to no access to clean water.

The iconic fashion house’s investment will help with the construction of 80 wells that will provide access to clean water to more than 120,000 women and their families. These new wells will be an addition to the other 35 that have already been constructed by BeyGood4Burundi. The initiative is said to have the ability to support 366,000 women and children by 2020.

In a statement Gucci’s president and chief executive officer Marco Bizzarri said:
“Gucci and Chime For Change are proud to stand with Beyoncé and Unicef to help change the lives of hundreds of thousands of girls and women in Burundi. Through our commitment to BeyGood4Burundi, we continue the mission of Chime For Change to provide education, health, and justice to girls and women globally.”
Chime For Change has raised $10 million to help fund 420 projects, with 153 partners in more than 80 countries. With these projects, the campaign has been able to help millions of families in need.

Further information about the initiative is available on the official UNICEF and Beyoncé websites.
