Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has further discussed her failed marriage to Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole, citing his habit of holding grudges for extended periods as a key factor in their separation.
In a recent episode on The Honest Bunch podcast, Yvonne shed light on the circumstances that caused the crash of her marriage.
According to the mother of one her ex-husband had a tendency to withdraw and keep to himself whenever they had disagreements, sometimes for weeks at a time.
She recalled an instance during her pregnancy when her husband held a grudge for three weeks, which frustrated her to the point of packing her bags and leaving for her parents’ house. Even then, he never checked on her well-being while she was away.
She said
“Most times when we had issues, I don’t know how to keep malice or walk out, come back and not talk to you. But he had A1 in malice and that was what ended the marriage. We kept malice for three weeks and I was pregnant in the same house and I packed my bags for my father’s house.
“Despite being pregnant, he won’t even call me till midnight to know where I took his pregnancy to.”
Abounce, the son of the late Nollywood veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi, married Yvonne in a simple yet elegant wedding ceremony in Lagos in February 2018.
The couple first met in 2004 on the set of Tade Ogidan’s renowned drama series, “Behind the Siege.”
Unfortunately, in March 2019, Yvonne revealed that their marriage had ended three months after the birth of their son
