US-based Nigerian rapper, Onome Onokohwomo better known as Yung6ix, has recounted how he narrowly escaped death after a foiled robbery attack in Downtown, Los Angeles.
In a post on his X page, Yung6ix recounted the harrowing experience as he revealed that a robber fired a shot at his car while he was still inside, but, miraculously, the bullet missed him. He admitted thata he initially believed it to be an assassination attempt.
Yung6ix credited his mother’s prayers for his survival. He tweeted,
“[I] just wanna thank God for working harder than satan. They just tried to rob me in DTLA. F*ck my car up. Never been this shocked in a minute. I’m grateful. Mama’s prayers working.
“Na where the bullet pass we still dey find, cuz I was in the car. This is mind boggling.
“I thought this guy was gonna kill me bro, I swear on blood of Jesus. God forbid, na so I for just go yesterday? God is definitely working over time for me.”
It would be recalled that in May 2021, Yung6ix took to social media to express his anguish after being robbed in the U.S.
The rapper revealed that unidentified thieves stole all his valuables, which were in his car, as he was moving into his new apartment.
The rapper disclosed that the robbers stole his laptop, which contained his new album and mixtape, along with $5,000 to $7,000 in cash. They also took his Black Magic 6K camera, four iPhones, his PS5, and studio recording equipment.
Yung6ix shared CCTV footage of the robbery on his Instagram page, revealing the moment his car was broken into. Alongside the video, he wrote:
“My car got robbed. Had my whole life in that car. My laptop with my new album and mixtape. about $5,000 – $7,000 cash, Black Magic 6k camera, iPhones my ps5 and studio recording equipments while I was moving into my new apartment.”
