Controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has issued a strong warning to anyone criticizing music legend 2Baba over his divorce announcement.
It’s no longer news that singer 2Baba and his wife, Annie, are facing marital troubles, which he publicly confirmed on Sunday 26th January. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the music icon announced their separation and ongoing divorce.
As numerous celebrities and internet personalities weighed in on the matter, Yul Edochie took to Instagram to slam them. He warned that thunder would strike anyone insulting 2Baba or calling him out over a private family issue that is nobody’s business.
“Anybody insulting 2baba or calling him out because of his family matter wey no concern you, thunder fire you”.

OAP Toolz shared her thoughts on the situation, stating that the couple should have handled their divorce privately. Acknowledging Annie’s deep love for 2Baba, she expressed sadness over the turn of events, reminiscing about their love story and how many had hoped for a fairy-tale ending for Annie—only for reality to take a different course.
Nigerian rapper and former Plantashun Boiz member, Blackface, penned an open letter to 2Baba and Annie, urging them to handle their divorce with decorum and civility. He reminded them that every relationship has its ups and downs and encouraged them to keep their issues within the family.
Iyabo Ojo criticized 2Baba for the timing of his announcement, pointing out that Annie is currently in a vulnerable state. She prayed for the couple to overcome this storm and find the strength to prioritize their children.
Media personality Daddy Freeze, during a live session, urged Nigerians not to cancel 2Baba over his flaws. He noted that the singer had never hidden his philandering ways and had been that way even before Annie married him. He described infidelity as 2Baba’s weakness and added that both he and Annie had their share of faults in the marriage.
Toke Makinwa expressed disappointment in 2Baba’s actions and pledged her support for Annie.

Meanwhile, fellow BBNaija alum Khloe Abiri vowed to fight for Annie, questioning why 2Baba would make such an announcement when Annie was already facing intense social media backlash.
Actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku condemned 2Baba for publicly humiliating Annie at her lowest point. The mother of three stated that she considered herself part of Annie’s family and criticized 2Baba’s judgment, warning him to be ready to answer tough questions when the time comes.
Celebrity designer Toyin Lawani urged people not to kick someone when they are already down, advocating instead for love, life, and learning.
Women’s advocate Ifedayo Agoro expressed outrage, calling 2Baba’s actions disgusting. She accused him of abandoning Annie during her most difficult moment, especially when she was being crucified by the public.
Delta State Governor’s aide, Ossai Ovie Success, also slammed 2Baba, calling his post insensitive and disrespectful, particularly since Annie recently lost twins and was already facing heavy social media backlash.
