Nollywood actor Yetunde Bakare has cautioned her colleague Tonto Dikeh over how the yearly celebration of her son’s birthday is always “dramatic.”
Tonto is known for spending lavishly on her son during his birthdays by buying him expensive gifts and hosting big parties for him. Her son Andre recently turned seven, and Tonto did not fail to replicate her gestures on his previous birthdays.
To mark her son’s seventh birthday, Tonto bought the kid seven gigantic cakes, gifted him a 10-acre plot of land, and named a 58-hectare estate after him.
Drama would trail Andre’s seventh birthday celebration online after his father and Tonto’s ex-partner, Olakunle Churchill, sent good wishes and expressed his desire to meet him soon.
Tonto would have none of it from her ex-husband by calling him out and alleging that he is a deadbeat father who doesn’t care about his son but prefers to chase clout with his name.
The thespian, who is currently running for the deputy governorship seat in Rivers State, said Churchill was just a sperm donor and expressed regret over his being the father of her child.
She also claimed that Churchill has another daughter and questioned why he doesn’t care about posting pictures of her on social media during her birthdays.
Reactions would trail Tonto’s backlash as people questioned the impact of Tonto’s relationship with her husband on her child.
Yetunde Bakare joined the debate in a blog’s comment section. She hailed Tonto’s venture into politics but advised her to not make every birthday celebration for Andre “dramatic.”
Yetunde said:
“I like Tonto’s growth and involvement in politics but As a single mother there are certain things you shouldn’t put your child through, every year birthday doesn’t have to be dramatic.”
