According to reports from a French-language newspaper known as Le Devoir, which is published in Canada, it stated that Alade will no longer perform at a festival’s final closing concert on Sunday, due to visa denial.
Earlier the singer was named as one of the headliners of the international Nuits d’Afrique.
In response to the news, festival co-founder, Suzanne Rousseau stated that the visa denial was brought on by “finance concerns and worries that the group wouldn’t leave Canada.”
Furthermore, Rousseau bemoaned that the procedure of obtaining a visitor’s visa has been challenging for “at least five years.”
She added;
“Finally, we got an answer saying the musicians were refused, saying they have to guarantee that they have enough financial means that will make them go back to their country.”
