Xenophobic Attack: Basketmouth Cancels Appearance At Award Show In South Africa

Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, has announced he would not be attending the Comics Choice Awards holding this weekend in South Africa in protest against xenophobic attack on Nigerians.

The comedian took to his Instagram page to join pop musician, Tiwa Savage, who had earlier cancelled an upcoming performance at DSTV Delicious Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa scheduled for September 21.

They add to the growing number of celebrities who have added their voices in condemnation of the attacks.

“I am not sure how and when we got here. I won’t be attending the Comics Choice Awards this weekend in S.A as scheduled,” Basketmouth wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

“It might sound like a whisper but together our voices and the right actions will hopefully make a true difference. And real change can begin.”
