Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola has taken a swipe at the issue of godfatherism in the entertainment industry.
In the aftermath of the tragic demise of 27-year-old rising music star, Mohbad, Toriola noted how one’s fatal missteps can lead to dire consequences for individuals fortunate enough to have a godfather or godmother in the entertainment industry.
Toriola also pointed out how these individuals can prevent potential supporters from helping, sabotage opportunities, and even fuel animosity towards them, among other detrimental outcomes.
Wumi added that this is the reason she and others have chosen to be their godfathers and godmothers.

Glamsquad Magazine reported that Mohbad passed away on Tuesday, 12th September at the age of 27.
Following his demise, several videos of physical assault on Mohbad by one Sam Larry, a close associate of his former record label boss, Naira Marley has been making rounds on the internet.
