As year 2022 is going to an end, leading Nigerian musicians have embarked on long tours across Europe and America in a pincer-style movement that will see them rake in billions of dollars for the treasury of their country.
Nigerian musicians have continued to raise the country’s flag high on the international stage by spreading good music all over the world.
The majority of collaborations have been made by international artists such as Chris Brown and Davido without lowering the musical quality. This is a message to all music lovers that anyone can be great if they put in the necessary effort.
Those who rise to become international stars understand the secret of success because they set goals for themselves on a regular basis. These are above-average goals because they want to be average singers. They put everything into making the music great, knowing that competence and mastery are the best marketers. The efforts of Nigerian artistes in bringing their music to the doorsteps of other countries have resulted in the rapid and lucrative growth of Nigerian artistry. Most of these artists, such as Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, are even managed by international music labels.
They are well-known in the international community and are now working with artists from all over the world in collaborations.
Davido, one of our favorite and most talked about artists, announced on Thursday the start of his North American tour with a concert in New York City.
The ‘We Rise by Lifting Others Tour’ in North America is set to take place in five cities, including New York, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and will kick off on Thursday night in New York.
Davido, as we all know, has always embodied his cultural heritage in most of his songs, which were not left out of Thursday’s performance in New York.
Tiwa Savage, Nigeria’s Queen of Afrobeats, lit up North American cities in May with her ‘Water & Garri’ tour, which kicked off on May 15 in New York City.
Tiwa Savage’s North American tour has taken her to cities such as Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Minneapolis.
She also announced her “Water and Garri” European tour.
Water & Gari, the Nigerian star’s EP, topped charts and featured an impressive lineup of features from international musical heavyweights, resulting in the genre-bending project of our dreams. American rapper Nas contributed lyrical expertise to the track “Work Fada,” R&B legend Brandy on “Somebody’s Son,” and up-and-coming Ghanaian talent Amaarae.
Buju, now known as BNXN, is taking over for Tiwa, and he has also announced his “Bad Since 97″ tour, which kick off on June 19th in Malta, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Lithuania, Warsaw, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Turkey. The tour would come to an end on August 7th.
Joeboy announced his first US tour three months ago, a show promoted and organized by Duke Concept in a Dutch-speaking country in South America, and the show was a success and sold out, as the musician stated on his Instagram page. 15,000 individuals! Suriname, thank you!”
Following the success of his 2020 album “Made In Lagos,” Wizkid embarked on a North American tour last year, which was a huge success, proving that the StarBoy never disappoints.
The dates started on September 10th in Boston and ended on October 12th in Atlanta. Wizkid traveled to Canada in January of this year.
His fourth studio is Made in Lagos (and second major label). Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records released it on October 30, 2020.
Guest appearances on the album include Skepta and Ella Mai from the United Kingdom, H.E.R. from the United States, Projexx and Damian Marley from Jamaica, and Burna Boy, Tems, Tay Iwar, and Terri from Nigeria.
The very Odogwu! Burna Boy, also known as the African Giant, is currently destroying the world with his distinct afrobeat.
Burna Boy had previously announced a series of concerts in support of his upcoming album Love, Damini.
The newly announced shows will take place in July in the United States and Canada.
The African Giant also made history at New York’s Legendary Madison Square Garden with his “One Night in Space” concert, which was sold out and received a million views on YouTube just six days later. Thousands of viewers around the world watched the show live as well.
Rema has also announced the dates for his Rave & Roses US tour, which began on August 11, 2022 at Neumos in Seattle and concluded on September 4, 2022 at Varsity Theatre in Minneapolis, MN.
Rema’s US tour coincides with the release of his debut album, Rave & Roses, which has topped charts since its release, debuting at #7 on Billboard World Albums.

Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, is a singer-songwriter and record producer who announced her first-ever US tour, “VIBE SZN,” in 2021.
Tems is currently touring in seven countries and has 15 upcoming concerts in the United Kingdom, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Norway, Canada, and the United States, among others.
The sexy magical performer recently postponed two international shows after being diagnosed with Reflux laryngitis, a vocal cord illness.

According to experts, the rise in overseas tours and sold-out venues is being driven by the growing popularity of Afrobeats on streaming services. With over 250 million views as of December 2022, CKay’s track ‘Love Nwantiti’ was the most streamed song on Spotify. It was also the most Shazamed song in the world, reaching the top 5 in Canada and many other countries. The song has also received 1.4 billion views on YouTube, surpassing Afrobeat stars such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

According to Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped results, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido are the most-streamed artists in Nigeria.
Spotify published a report in April 2022 that named CKay, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tems, and Mr. Eazi among the top 5 exported local artists from Nigeria on Spotify.
In the month of May, Spotify honored six African artists and podcasters, including Ladipo. Spotify praised the six African musicians and podcasters for making their voices heard and exposing the world to the diverse range of African talents.

Because of Afrobeats, UMG is now one of the global music brands that counts Nigeria and Africa as one of their major markets.
