Wizkid, a popular Nigerian celebrity singer, has achieved something no other artist has ever done in the history of Nigerian music.
Wizkid’s song “Essence,” which features fast-rising vocalist Tems, has charted at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest-charting Nigerian single ever.
It’s an incredible achievement for both Wizkid and Tems, who are signed to the same label, as well as African music in general.
