Why Mariah Carey Wants James Parker To Give Her $50 Million After Their Break Up

How could Mariah Carey possibly think James Packer needs to give her $50 million after their breakup, right?! Well, it turns out the pair had drafted up a prenup with plans to get married months ago…and it had a lot of specifics about what the singer would get.

Mariah Carey and James Packer unexpectedly split last month, but new leaked emails and a prenup draft reveal they could’ve been marred by now if they had their original wish! An email chain from las February, obtained by TMZ, shows that James and Mariah wanted to get married on March 1, and the back-and-forth included a prenup with details about what the singer would get if the union didn’t work out.
James’ lawyers reportedly put together a 100 page document that specified what would happen if the two broke up, and it included $50 million — which is why MiMi is demanding that amount from her ex now that they’re dunzo. Still, the two never actually did tie the knot, and the prenup was never signed, so it doesn’t seem like she really has any grounds to receive that amount.
The prenup didn’t get signed by the desired wedding date, and James was NOT happy about it. “I don’t know who’s working for who because there are a lot of names I haven’t heard before on this email chain,” the billionaire reportedly wrote in an e-ail. “The people who work for me — message — do as I say or f*** off. I want to get married on March 1st.” Mariah even reportedly had a dress, flowers and more all planned out!

Of course, Mariah and Nick Cannon’s divorce wasn’t even finalized back in March — that just happened last month — so the pair wouldn’t have even been able to legally marry anyway. There has been no update yet on whether or not James actually plans to give Mariah the $50 mil.
