Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro has declared that he won’t be saying “I do” until his bank account boasts at least N500 million.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, the artist reflected on his tough upbringing and his commitment to building a solid financial foundation before settling down.
He also stressed the importance of proper mentorship, urging his followers to break free from generational poverty and ensure their children are guided toward a better future.
The Who’s Your Guy crooner expressed concern that many in his generation prioritize fleeting pleasures over meaningful personal growth, calling it “gallivanting and indulging in frivolities.”
Spyro revealed that he never had the privilege of owning toys as a child and faced numerous hardships growing up.
Emphasising that financial stability alone isn’t enough, he urged parents to also instill strong moral values and a sense of responsibility in their children.
He wrote:
“I blame all these on bad parenting….”Train up a child (male/female) the way he should go and when he grows, he will not depart from it. A lot of us should be focused on ending the circle of poverty so that our children won’t be victims too but unfortunately, my generation just dey gallivant about, indulging in frivolities..hmm
“I was talking to someone earlier today about how I was never opportune to have toys as a kid; my childhood wasn’t the easiest, but one thing I told myself from a very tender age. My kids will never have to go through what I did and so I put myself to rigorous work. In fact, I will never marry without having N500m in my account. I fought, cried, and prayed, and today, I can afford to give my kids the life they want so they don’t become prey as I almost became one.
This should be what we should focus on not criticizing.
“Nevertheless, it’s not enough to provide, it is very Germane to also train them with the fear of God as that’s what separates a man from beast tendencies. The spirit of God in man is what regulates him and keeps him level-headed. Didn’t the Bible make reference to the heart of man? Desperately wicked who can know it? God over man is what keeps him sane”.
Burna Boy and Sophia Egbueje
This comes in the wake of a leaked voice note that went viral on February 27, 2025, involving Sophia Egbueje, Burna Boy, and a one-sided sex-for-Lamborghini arrangement.
In the 40-minute audio, Sophia vented her frustrations to a friend, alleging that in 2024, her friend Ama Reginald and Burna Boy’s associate, King Manny, convinced her to meet the singer.
Initially hesitant, Sophia was persuaded by Burna Boy’s reputation for grand gestures—like gifting his ex, Stefflon Don, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth around $500,000.
She alleged that the singer made multiple promises, including buying her a Lamborghini, but after their one-night encounter, he ghosted her and never fulfilled his word.
