Since his debut in the spotlight, Asake has never failed to live up to the hype and has been consistent with releasing chart-breaking hits for over 24 months.

Many people, including his fans, know him as a talented Afro-fusion singer, but few know that he started his career as a dancer and transitioned into singing for a reason.

In a recent interview with ABC News Live Prime, Asake disclosed that he was really into dancing but that “having money too” informed his decision to venture into singing.

Asake said:

“I actually didn’t want to do music. I just wanted to dance, like water. I love everything about dancing. But at the end of the day, I fell in love with having money too. Do you understand? So at the end of the day, I thought about it, is dance going to give me the kind of money that I want?”

Asake, who combines singing with his first love, dancing, made history after his 2022 debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe” became the highest charting debut African album of all time on Apple Music.
