- Ini Edo has been the object of criticism by fans in the past.
Being a celebrity in Nigeria can be demanding, especially due to the fact that there are a large number of moral police on the internet and in physical locations.
Celebrities are judged by every move they make. From the kind of houses they live in, to the kind of clothes they wear, food they eat, social media posts, and more, celebrities are tasked with living a perfect life by the majority of Nigerian fans.
More so, celebrities are made objects of strong criticism if they default a bit, but Nollywood actor Ini Edo pays less attention to critics.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the “Shanty Town” actor noted that she does not allow criticism to overwhelm her because she has chosen to live for herself and not the public.
Ini Edo said:
“People don’t understand that you live this life for yourself. It’s just you that matter. You can’t be the judge of your own life and be the judge of my own life at the same time.
“The truth is, people don’t really care. After the cruise, they move. If you care enough for yourself, that’s enough.”
Ini Edo, who is also a political appointee in the Akwa Ibom State government, revealed that she announced the arrival of her child through surrogacy because she did not want her story to be told by someone else.
She further advised fans not to limit themselves because of public opinion.
