Glamsquad Magazine recalls that In June 2021, a video of ace gospel singer Tope Alabi criticizing a popular Christian song, Oniduro Mi, sung by iconic vocalists Tolu Adelegan and Adeyinka Alaseyori at separate occasions went viral on the Nigerian digital arena.

Alabi said that God was more than a guarantor to her while commenting on the song. The singer went on to say that there was a period when she wanted to sing the song, but the Holy Spirit forbade her.

The topic triggered a heated debate on Nigerian social media platforms, particularly Twitter, with some online users slamming Alabi.

However, Alaseyori, one of the song’s vocalists, calmed the situation in the midst of the uproar.

Alaseyori, whose version of the ‘Oniduro Mi’ song appears to be more popular, remained silent until a video leaked online in which she referred to Tope Alabi as her mother and begged for peace.
