WANG LI-LING TURNS GARBAGE INTO FASHION

It’s quite surprising where and how designers get their inspiration and materials for fashion, as we see with Taiwan designer, Wang Li-ling who scours garbage dumps for old pieces of metals and wires to add some extra flair to her designs.

Wang said in an interview that, “These materials have been used for more than 20 or 30 years, at least more than 10 years. So the colour or mottled feeling they give is different from new materials.”

The wires, metals and other materials are sewed onto clothes which gives them a futuristic feel.

Taiwan is known to produce designers who are beginning to impact the industry.

Should we expect more creative surprises?.
