In a recent interview, the musician said that he had to leave home since his lecturer father originally did not support his choice to become a musician.
“Honestly, he [my father] was indifferent at first,” he explained. But my perseverance and consistency paid off [laughs].
“I ran away from home at some point in my life to pursue music on my own.” And I had to do all kinds of things just to survive. At parties, I offer bus tickets and food.”
He emphasized that he hails from the’streets of Surulere’ in Lagos and declared that “if you can survive in Surulere, you can survive anywhere.”
He went on to say that his ghetto experience had helped him make better decisions.
