Glamsquad reports that celebrates, just like other Nigerians have been experiencing difficulties in excercising their civic rights in the 2023 general election.
Nollywood veteran actress, Kate Henshaw on her path was disenfranchised.
She took to her Twitter page to call out The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for disenfranchising her and some other person’s in her polling unit.
The 51-year-old lamented that she has not been able to cast her vote because the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), a device designed to read Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) says she is not registered.
She further noted that she found her name on INEC register and on their website but, she can’t vote. Henshaw acalled on the person in charge of INEC in Lagos to find a quick solution to the problem.
Revealing how downcasted she is, Henshaw noted that INEC is playing with her destiny.
She said,
“You people are playing with my destiny. INEC eh! I registered, I transferred my card, i picked up my PVC now you BVAS is saying I’m not registered. But I have seen my name on the register on the wall and in your website. What are you guys doing? Its like you people want problem with me. INEC, CNN, BBC anybody watching this election from out side of the country, INEC is playing games. its not just me, there are so many people who have not been found on the BVAS. Please whomever is in charge of INEC Lagos, You need to come and sought it out here”.
