Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon has tendered an apology to Honourable-Elect for Eti-Osa Constituency, Thaddeus Attah.
Glamsquad reported earlier that singer, Bankole Wellington better known as Banky W of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lost to Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party (LP) in the Eti-Osa Federal constituency election. Read here
Following this, Deyemi Okanlawon has written an open letter to Thaddeus Attah.
In his lengthy letter that he cast his vote for Banky W because he believed that Banky W would have been the most suitable candidate for the position. Read here
His open letter backfired after he received criticism being condescending.
Hours later, Deyemi Okanlawon, he took to Instagram via a video to address the criticisms. He apologised to the new as well as those who were offended with his post.
He acknowledged his responsibility for his actions, recognizing that he could have used better language and not directed his anger towards him. Despite this, he emphasized his desire to conduct an online interview with him, as a concerned resident of Eti-Osa, and would appreciate a response at his convenience.
He said:
“In the early hours of today, in the spirit of the season wrote an open letter to the HOR-elect of Eti-Osa Local Government area, Mr. Thaddeus Attah. I admit I could have chosen better words and I could have not allowed the frustration that I have felt about this past week to affect the message that I was trying to pass across. So I apologize to Mr. Attah and everyone who felt I was overreaching. I would now try to focus on the core of what I am saying so it’s clear and can’t be misconstrued in any way. I live in Eti-Osa”.
