Victor Osimhen is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club, Napoli and the Nigeria national team. He was born on the 29th of December 1998 and is currently 24 years old.

Victor was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Patrick Osimhen (deceased) in the South-South of Nigeria, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo and the last of six children.
According to reports, Osimhen hawked sachet water and other commodities on the streets of Lagos together with his siblings to support their parents.
He started football at a very tender age. He joined the senior team of Ultimate Strikers Academy located at No 8 Anisere Cl, Ojota, Lagos as a striker, where his elder brother, Andrew, also played.
Then, Coach Emmanuel Amunike set his eyes on Victor Osimhen and listed him among the Golden Eaglets squad that went to Chile for the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015.
Victor not only broke a long-standing FIFA U-17 World Cup record by winning the highest goal scorer award with 10 goals, but he also received the FIFA U-17 World Cup Silver Ball. Furthermore, he played a significant role in helping the Nigerian under-17 squad of 2015 become the eventual champions of the tournament.

In March 2019, Osimhen was dropped from the Super Eagles team to play for the Nigerian U23 side as they were trailing their Libyan rivals by two goals. Osimhen made an impressive comeback by scoring three goals in the subsequent game against Libya, which took place in Asaba, Delta State.
In the match for third place, he replaced the injured Odion Ighalo at half-time in the team’s 1–0 victory over Tunisia.
In August 2019, Victor Osimhen received another call-up from Gernot Rohr, the coach of the Nigerian national team, to play in a friendly match against Ukraine. The game took place on 10 September 2019 at the Dnipro Arena in Ukraine and ended in a 2-2 draw.
Osimhen was unable to participate in the 2021 AFCON tournament with the Super Eagles due to a disagreement with his club side, Napoli, who reportedly kept him from playing due to Covid concerns. However, he has since reconciled with the team and has returned to play with them.

In a recent AFCON 2023 qualifying match against Sao Tome and Principe, held at the Stade Adrar Stadium, Osimhen scored four goals to help Nigeria secure a 10-0 victory.
With his four goals in the recent match, Osimhen has now scored a total of 15 goals in 22 appearances for the Super Eagles. However, he still has a ways to go to reach the record of Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer, Rasheed Yekini, who has scored 27 goals. Osimhen currently trails Yekini by 12 goals.
