Timawus Mathias, a veteran broadcaster and writer, died at the age of 73, glamsquad reports

Jiji Mathias, a family member, made the announcement in a Facebook post today, September 9, 2022.
His death came after a long period of illness.
In August, he awoke from a 5-week coma and took to Facebook to share the news of his illness and miraculous recovery.
His wife, three sons, and one daughter survive him.
Mathias was born on December 5th, 1948. He began his career as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority Yola before entering private practice in the media space for the next five decades.
President Muhammadu Buhari honored Mathias on his 70th birthday in 2018.
