US rapper Big Scarr passes away at 22

Big Scarr, an American rapper, has reportedly died at the age of 22, glamsquad reports.

The Shaderoom reported on Thursday that the Memphis hip hop sensation, born Alexander Woods, had died, and his death was verified by rapper Gucci Mane, whose record company, Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, he was signed to.

 

Scarr’s death is yet unclear, and no confirmation has been provided by authorities or local media.

‘This hurt,’ Gucci wrote beside a carousel of photos of the Memphis native, adding, ‘I’m a miss you @bigscarr.’

 

Scarr recently announced on Instagram that he would be touring alongside Key Glock, another Memphis rapper, as part of his Glockoma Tour 2023.

 

Key Glock posted on Twitter, ‘This s**t wicked wtf bruh!!!’ with a broken heart emoji.

 

Big Scarr was born on April 7, 2000, in the Magnolia neighborhood of South Memphis. In 2019, he launched his rap career with the release of ‘Make a Play,’ which swiftly gained fame on YouTube.

 

Scarr inked a deal with Gucci Mane’s label in 2020.

 

He is well known for his mixtape Big Grim Reaper, which was published in 2021 and was followed by a deluxe edition the following year. The album debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard 200, selling 22,000 copies in its first week.

His death follows the assassinations of two other Memphis rappers, Young Dolph and Snootie Wild.

 

Young Dolph was assassinated in Memphis in November 2021, while Snootie Wild was shot in Houston in February.
