He was born on February 2, 1986, in Cross River State, Nigeria, and is the 11th of 15 children. He had his primary and secondary education in Calabar and studied law at Madonna University. Franklin started his career as a personal assistant to the popular comedian Julius Agwu.

Franklin is also a politician and currently serves as the Special Adviser to Cross River State Governor Benedict Ayade on Tourism.

He is an entrepreneur and the founder of Instant Apartment, a company that provides short-term apartment rentals. He has also hosted several TV shows, including The Voice Nigeria. Franklin has been married to Nigerian actress Lilian Esoro, and they have a son named Jayden. He has four children in total, including two daughters named Zaneta and Ariella and another son named Shiloh.
