Television host, Nick Cannon, and model, Alyssa Scott welcomed their 12th child, a daughter named Halo Marie Cannon, on December 14th, 2022.
Glamsquad notes that this is the couple’s second child together and the birth comes just a year after the death of their son Zen, who passed away at 5 months old due to brain cancer.
In an emotional video announcing the birth, Scott reflected on how their lives were “forever changed” and that Zen’s “spirit was with [them]” during the delivery.
Scott wrote:
“December 14 2022. Our lives are forever changed Zen is in every breath I take. I know his spirit was with us in the room that morning.
“I know he is watching down on us. He shows me signs everyday. I will hold onto this memory forever. I will remember the sound of Nick’s voice saying “it’s a girl” and the look of everything we’ve been through flash across his face.
“I will remember the sound of her crying out with her first breath and feeling her heartbeat against mine. My sweet girl, I got my surprise!! We love you Halo Marie Cannon! @rebeccacoursey_photosandfilm.
The video also included a tribute to Zen, featuring pictures of the young baby and a quote that reads:
“Grief is the love inside you shedding its skin, becoming a new form of love.”
As the newborn rests on Scott’s chest, she could not hold back her tears, and the happy couple posed for a selfie. At home, Scott cradles her daughter as she appears happier than ever.

Nick Cannon has several other children in addition to Zen and Halo.
He has two sons with model Brittany Bell: Rise Messiah, who is 10 weeks old, and Golden Sagon, who is 5 years old.
He also has a daughter with Bell, Powerful Queen, who is 23 months old. Cannon also has a daughter with Abby De La Rosa, Beautiful Zeppelin, who is 6 weeks old, and twins Zion and Zillion, who are 18 months old, with De La Rosa.
In addition, he has 11-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.
He also shares a son, Legendary Love, who is 5 months old, with model Bre Tiesi, and has a daughter, Onyx Ice Cole, who is 3 months old, with former Price Is Right model LaNisha Cole.
