Actress Toyin Abraham has denied allegations that she was responsible for the arrest of the mother of one of her online critics.
The drama began late Tuesday when a social media user accused Toyin of having his mother detained on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
El Jefe, the netizen, wrote, “It’s one thing to make a tweet and you arrest me. It’s another thing to arrest me for not even making a single comment @toyin_abraham1. You picked my mom up from her shop to Panti police station for something I didn’t even do. God will judge you.”
He continued his accusations with another post, saying, “You made my mom cry today for something I didn’t even do! You will face your own consequences!”
He also questioned, “How did I bully you and your son? Where did I say your son will die?”
In response, X user Prince Adeshina clarified that the woman who allegedly was arrested had actually gone to a police station and refused to leave until her son’s friend, Big Ayo, a vocal critic of Toyin’s, was released.
On Wednesday morning, another X user, Danny, sarcastically goaded Toyin to send the police after all her critics, labeling her “utterly shameless.”
Toyin countered by stating that while she could brush off insults directed at her, she drew the line at lies and curses targeting her children.
She denied the arrest allegations, stating, “I never and will never arrest anyone’s mum. I made a report at cybercrime as a citizen.”
Danny escalated his threats, vowing to launch a mass reporting campaign against Toyin’s Instagram page and her Netflix content, urging others to create a list of her films on Netflix and Prime Video to target with complaints.
