Tiwa’s Wedding: How to look as fab on your wedding day!

Getting ready for that big day can be as daunting as finding love in the first place. It takes a lot of planning, priming, tucking, trimming and more! Take a cue from star singer, Tiwa, who looked exceptionally gorgeous on her wedding day!

Here are a few tips:

  • Like Tiwa, start an exercise regime three months before D-day. Get that toned body that would make you look stunning in your wedding dress. Exercise will keep the bride-to-be in a good mood; it serves as an emotional lift. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. It helps you see your body in a different/newer better way and leaves you feeling more confident.
  • Get into the mood of happiness months before the wedding. Do not wear yourself out with the details of your wedding. If you cannot afford a wedding planner then you should enrol your sisters or good friends, or plan the details many months earlier so that you can get your feet up after a while and just exhale. Finding yourself in the heat of preparation days before your wedding will leave you drained and bewildered. You can see a slim calendar for Tiwa weeks before her wedding; she dropped not just some pounds but work schedule; she played around on Instagram posting happy pictures, waiting joyfully for the big day. It paid off, she looked amazing!
  • Fall in love over and over again with your fiancé before you say “I do”. Couples become chaotic during wedding preparations that they begin to throw their frustration around, transferring aggression; and the worst hit is always the one you love the most. Find small ways to re-ignite your love. Write him a love tweet. Send a love note via Facebook; post a picture of the two of you happy and grateful. These little love gestures work like magic and will keep you focused on the important things ahead. We saw a lot of that with Tiwa and Teebillz on social network, didn’t we?
  • Spread the love! If you are in love, everyone around you should be inspired by it. Love is contagious. Light up your world, this in turn will light up the world of others, by staying happy. A good and loving attitude will keep friends and families in high spirits, regardless of the usual wedding challenges, and will help your state of mind.
  • Do not party hard 48 hours before. The night before your wedding is not the time for partying; get eight hours of restful sleep. If you’re having a rehearsal dinner or a bachelorette bash, make sure it comes a few days before the wedding. Drink moderately or, better yet, not at all. Bloodshot eyes and a banging hangover are not sexy at all- and you need to look as hot as possible in that white or ivory dress of yours!
  • Don’t eat too much 24 hours before your wedding. The body can react strangely sometimes and you do not want to be caught off guard. You do not want to feel bloated. If you feel that way it will appear in your expressions and ruin a large chunk of the day’s glee. To relax the nerves and contain the excitement and nerves, try taking a long walk – it can help with pre-nuptial jitters. Also, a visit to the spa or a casual massage from “the boo” can be soothing. Music is also another way of finding inner peace and calm. Drink water and don’t try any last minute adventure- like a new cream. Last minute experiment is a no-no! You just might wake up with a rash right on your forehead!
  • Get some sleep. I recommend eight hours before D-day. Close your eyes and dream of the happy future ahead of you!

To Tiwa and all the new brides, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
