Nigerian singer, Inetimi Alfred Odom better known as Timaya has opened up on his stance about marriage and relationships.
In a recent interview with NAIJA FM, Timaya shared his reservations about marriage, highlighting how much harder it is to end a marriage compared to a relationship.
When asked about his stance, the singer candidly said:
“I’ve never been a marriage guy right from time but it can change, because marriage dey crase? I just look at it like if I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress.”
Timaya emphasized the importance of open communication in his relationships, stressing his preference for addressing issues directly rather than allowing them to linger unresolved.
“If you have a problem with me , let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things , I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”
As a father of four, Timaya spoke about his parenting role and the understanding he has with the mothers of his children, highlighting the importance of maintaining a harmonious arrangement for their well-being.
Timaya revealed that while his children live with their respective mothers, they share a strong and close bond.
He reflected on the joys and challenges of fatherhood, emphasizing the importance of effective co-parenting in creating a supportive environment for his children.
“Being a father is stressful because I love them too much but it’s enjoyable. My four kids live with their mothers so when I want to see them, I ask their mothers and they come to my house and we spend two to three months together then they go back to their mother’s. Christmas is coming and they’d spend it with me as well, but their mothers don’t come because they’re in relationships. We’re all family now so I can’t date any of them, we’re family now and we respect each other”.
