The morning after the event, the 28-year-old was released from custody and placed on supervised pre-trial release. The case is set for March 21.

A written statement from a Herriman Police Department officer who responded to the incident is included in the court documents. It states that Dakota “reported he was in an argument with his girlfriend” when he arrived.

The policeman added, “Dakota attempted to leave the residence during the fight, but Taylor started punching him.”

A video of the incident, according to the officer, shows Taylor kicking Dakota, holding him in a choke hold, and beating him many times, including with metal bar stools, one of which struck her daughter Indy Paul, 5, who was lying on a couch.

According to Dakota, who reported it to the officer, Taylor was requested to cease throwing the object since the child “was next to him on the couch” before Indy was struck.
