Afrobeats singer, Adekunle Moruf Kosoko, better known as Adekunle Gold, has voiced deep concerns about the state of the Nigerian music industry.
He lamented that the industry is being controlled by the wrong hands, with artistes, producers, and other creatives sidelined by individuals who lack genuine musical expertise.
According to Adekunle Gold, these non-music-oriented figures are shaping the narrative, spreading misleading perceptions about the industry.
He explained that this is why true talent is often overlooked while mediocrity continues to thrive.
Taking to his X page, the singer who turned 38 on 28th January 28 wrote
“People who have no business leading music conversations are now controlling and destroying the industry.
“Artists, producers, and real contributors are being overshadowed by people who don’t create, don’t understand, and don’t respect the craft.
“When the wrong people lead the conversation, they push the wrong narratives. That’s why real talent is overlooked, and mediocrity thrives. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
