The Beauty looks Since its inception in 1939, the annual event held on the French Rivera has been a playground for Hollywood royalty to show up and show out. Even though now the rest of the world has joined in, the Cannes Film Festival still thrives on old Hollywood fashion decadence. As the biggest fashion event of the year – the Met Gala – ended, expectations for the Cannes Film Festival grew high. As stars made their way to the Cannes red carpet starting May 14, it became obvious that many stars opted for traditional glam when it came to their beauty, with a modernized twist as noted on the best beauty looks.
On dark coloured women, nude lips was a preferred look, as was smokey, winged eyes. Flushed cheeks and dewy complexions, thick winged liner and a glossy sheen, fluttered set of lashes, voluminous curls, red lips, razor-sharp cheekbones and classic cat-eyes were among the most captivating beauty looks we spotted throughout the festival.
As the festival came to a close on May 25, we had seen enough beauty moments that made our heads spin in excitement considering all the inspirations we’ve bottled up for the stylish summer months.
