Glamsquad reports that Charlbi Dean, a South African actress and model, died at the age of 32 from an ‘unexpected sudden illness.’

The nature of Dean’s fatal illness has not yet been revealed, but according to the Daily Mail, she died on Monday, August 29 from a ‘unexpected sudden illness’ in a New York City hospital.
The tragic death of the brunette beauty occurred four months after she became engaged to her four-year boyfriend, Luke Chase Volker.

Dean is also survived by her parents, Johan and Joanne Kriek, and her brother, Alexi Jacobs Kriek.
Dean, who was born and raised in Cape Town, began modeling as a child before making her film debut as an actress in 2010’s Spud. Dean would also appear in the film’s sequel before recurring as the villain Syonide in Black Lightning. Dean was recently cast as the lead in stlund’s Triangle of Sadness, a film that received critical acclaim in Cannes and has been generating Oscar buzz since its world premiere.
Dean’s final acting role was as model Yaya opposite Woody Harrelson in Ruben stlund’s shipwreck satirical comedy Triangle of Sadness, which opens in the United States on October 7 and in the United Kingdom on October 28.
