Singer, Falz faults 2023 elections, takes a swipe at INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu

The 2023 elections have come and gone. However, Nigerians are still reeling in what is tagged ‘the worst election’ conducted so far in the history of the country. A series of electoral violence was recorded, coupled with religious bigotry and tribal sentiments.

Nigerian singer and human rights activist, Folarin Falana better known as Falz the Bahd Guy has once again found fault in the elections that bring unwanted politicians back into power.

Just like his other colleagues, Falz slammed the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, over the conduct of the 2023 election.

Taking to Microblogging app, Twitter, The 30-year-old singer said the N300 billion allocated to Yakubu to carry out the 2023 election which ended up being a ‘selection’ process could have been used to build a meaningful infrastructure in the country.

Falz in a tweet he shared claimed that Yakubu used the N300 billion budgeted for the election to carry out a “selection” process. He added that the money could have been used for infrastructure.

He tweeted;

“Make we no forget say over 300 BILLION Naira wey fit build beta infrastructure, Mr Yakubu use am conduct Selection.”

Falz who also doubles as a lawyer was among the front runners of the 2020 End SARS protest which demanded an end to police brutality and better governance.
