Singer David Crosby dies aged 81

Singer and songwriter, David Crosby passed away on Thursday, according to his family. He was 81.

David Crosby was a folk rock pioneer and a founding member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

“It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django,” the Crosby family said in a statement.

“Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music”

Together with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, Crosby was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 with the Byrds and again in 1997 as Crosby, Stills & Nash.
