Nigeran singer, Chike is currently under heavy criticism for gifting a troll who mocked him one million Naira.
The drama began after a troll identified as @Hate OFX claimed that Chike gained fame through his collaboration with late singer, Mohbad.
Recall that before the untimely demise of Mohbad whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, he collaborated with Chike on the hit single “Egwu”. The song rapidly gained popularity, becoming a huge hit on multiple streaming platforms.
Consequently, some social media users accused Chike of leveraging on Mohbad’s demise for his gain by releasing the song when his alleged killers are yet to be prosecuted. The criticism escalated when Chike posted a video of his new song on X, prompting one troll to comment, “Mohbad made you.”
In an unexpected move, Chike turned the criticism into a positive gesture by gifting N1 million to the troll.

Chike’s action received mixed reactions from his fans. While some noted that he is enabling trolls, others slammed him for not showing his fans monetary love.
