“It is always very exciting to see people wearing your designs,” Jonathan Anderson said in an interview of the latest cult item to come out of his craft-rooted Loewe-verse: the Balloon bag.
By now, you’ll have seen the rounded drawstring design slung over the shoulders and wrapped around the wrists of Sienna Miller, Chloë Sevigny, Julianne Moore, Tessa Thompson, Helen Mirren, or Dua Lipa – a diverse group of women testament to the pulling power of Anderson’s Loewe.
But, what’s so special about another hold-everything bucket bag?
“I wanted to create something very tactile – both structured and soft,” Anderson explains of his thought process.
“We came up with the Balloon style, with a rigid round base in calf leather and a smooth napa sac on the inside.”
The colour of the new supple house signature – which comes in small, medium and large sizes – makes the master leatherwork even more covetable. Hazelnut and tan, anyone? Or, perhaps you’re a topaz and black person?
