Shan George, a Nollywood actor, has claimed that some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry lease houses and lie about it on social media.

The high-profile actor made her views public while reacting to a post made by fellow actress Angela Okorie.

In a post, Angela alleged that many female actors who said they purchased houses with the money they made from acting were lying.

Her post prompted Shan George’s reply:

“Many just lease the houses, and come online to claim bought. Their cup of zobo, biko.?’’

In a similar vein, actor Remi Njoku, in an Instagram post on Saturday, February 11, 2023, questioned why people invest so much time in living a fake life when they could actually work for everything they are faking.

The thespian questioned:

Why do we put so much energy into ‘looking like we made it? Instead of using same energy in attempting to make it. It will never make sense to me. They say everyone isn’t destined to make it’ But what if YOU, are one of the destined few? And you are busy wasting away your destiny in a fake world you’ve built to deceive yourself and get validation from people who don’t care about you. Wake up”.

The issue of fake life amongst entertainers in Nigeria is easily blamed on competition in an industry that is all about glitz and glamour.

It will be recalled that Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abbas, once alleged that superstar musician Phyno wore fake jewelry, an allegation that Phyno will address in a song titled “Telli Person.’’

Hushpuppi is currently serving a prison sentence for fraud. It is never a good idea to lead a fake life because of public pressure or the industry.
