After splitting from her ex-partner, Gerard Pique, Shakira is said to have found love with a new man in Miami, glamsquad reports
The Colombian singer-songwriter, 46, is said to be relocating to Florida after reaching an agreement on child custody with ex Gerard Pique.
According to the Spanish news website OK Diario, the mother-of-two may have another reason to hurry her move to Miami: a’mystery man’ she met several months ago before writing her latest diss song about Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia.
‘It appears the Colombian singer may have discovered a new illusion in the shape of a mysterious man she apparently met in Miami and has been in contact with for four months,’ the website reported at the weekend.
It provided no further details, other than to say that the mystery man was not former flame Antonio de la Rua, whom she dated before meeting Pique at the 2010 World Cup, where Shakira performed her hit song “Waka Waka.”
Shakira expert Laura Fa, one of two journalists who regularly report on the mum-of-two for Catalan newspaper El Periodico, said earlier this month that the artist was considering leaving Barcelona with her children on April 1 instead of the end of the school year in June.
That was before her mother, Nidia Ripoll, was admitted to hospital in Catalonia’s capital due to a blood clot discovered in her leg. After signing a child custody agreement with Pique in December, her 91-year-old father, William Mubarak, was initially cited as the main reason she dropped plans to move to Miami at the start of the year.
The couple, who divorced in May after 11 years together, announced in November that they had reached an agreement following a protracted negotiation that culminated in a marathon 12-hour meeting with their lawyers. The agreement was signed the following month in a court in Barcelona.
Pique, who is now dating Catalan beauty Clara Chia, will spend the holidays with his children as part of the agreement.
On the Jimmy Fallon Show earlier this month, the South American artist performed her diss track with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap, in which she fires poisoned darts at Pique and his new girlfriend. She went on to discuss her split from the former footballer.
In a subsequent interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais, Pique stated that he was’very happy’ following the dramatic changes in his life, which included his divorce from Shakira and retirement from football.
In the interview, he also declined a question about Shakira, but added, ‘Each parent has the responsibility to try to do the best for their children.’
It’s all about keeping them safe. That is the responsibility of all parents toward their children. That is what I am focused on, and it is my responsibility as a father.’
