Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun has received backlash from his fans after he lamented about the current economic hardship in Nigeria.
Saidi who was a strong supporter of Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, took to his Instagram page to lament over economic hardship.
He questioned whether Nigeria has a functional price control or regulatory agency, and wondered how they plan to mitigate the impact of inflation.
The actor also pointed out that things are spiraling out of control.
“Do we have a functional price control or piece regulatory agency in Nigeria? How do we cushion the effects of inflation?Because things are getting out of hand”.
His statement didn’t go down well with Netizens as they reminded him of how he campaigned for the President Tinubu

One Justice Oso questioned Saidi if the economic hardship got to his side, too, as he stated that he thought the masses were the only ones suffering.
“Waoooo he don reach una side too? I think say na only we the masses the thing dey affect o”.
In response, Saidi pointed out that the rain affects everyone, regardless of their status. He added that just because he has an umbrella doesn’t mean he isn’t aware of the impact of the rain.
He wrote: “The rain falls on everyone, sir, regardless of status. Because I probably have an umbrella does not mean I don’t see the effect of the rain”.
Another fan questioned whether the actor truly cared about the state of affairs in the country. He wrote, “As if he cares”.
He responded by assuring the fan that he does care, but acknowledged that the fan might not see it that way due to their preconceived notions. He added that he hopes God answers his prayers.
“Of course, I care. But you would never know that because you already have your mindset. May God answer our prayers”.
