Rapper Snoop Dogg announces he's quit smoking

Legendary American rapper and actor, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg has announced that he has quit smoking.

Snoop Dogg, 52, known for his notorious marijuana smoking habit took to his social media platforms to share the news.

According to him, the decision came after a meeting with his family. He asked that the public respect his privacy at this time.

He wrote

“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Please respect my privacy at this time”.

The news is accompanied by a solemn black-and-white photo and signature an act which made fans find it hard to believe.

Earlier in March, Snoop Dogg disclosed he had moderated his marijuana intake after becoming a grandfather.

In 2015, the rapper launched his own platform called Merry Jane, a lifestyle media site that serves as an information hub for everyone interested in marijuana.
