Folasade Ogunsola, a clinical microbiology professor, has been named vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), glamsquad reports.

On Friday, October 7, 2022, the UNILAG governing council announced her appointment.
She is the school’s first female vice-chancellor in 60 years and UNILAG’s 13th vice-chancellor.
She is expected to succeed Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, whose term expires on November 11, 2022.
Ogunsola, the late eminent geographer Prof. Akin Mabogunje’s daughter, has served the university in a variety of capacities.
She was the Provost of the College of Medicine in Idi Araba, Lagos, and also served as Ogundipe’s deputy vice chancellor.
