Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo has reacted to 2Baba’s shocking announcement of his divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Iyabo urged couples to prioritize their children’s well-being when love fades and separation becomes inevitable. She emphasized that parenting requires sacrifices and cautioned against abandoning loved ones during their darkest moments, even in the face of divorce.
She further called on the public to practice empathy and prioritize children’s mental health. According to her, sensitive matters should not be publicly aired, as the frenzy of social media often overlooks the emotional toll on those directly affected.
The mother of two expressed her admiration for 2Baba but criticized the timing of his announcement, describing it as insensitive. She stated that adding fuel to the fire and hurting Annie, the mother of his children, who is already in a vulnerable state, lacked empathy. Iyabo didn’t hide her disappointment with the singer’s actions.
Addressing Annie, Iyabo offered words of encouragement, assuring her that the storm would pass. She prayed for both parties to find the strength to prioritize their children’s well-being above all else.
“A heartfelt reminder to couples: when love fades, prioritize your children’s well-being. As parents, sacrifices are essential. Never abandon loved ones in their darkest moments, even if separation or divorce is inevitable.
Let’s emphasize empathy and our children’s mental health. Sensitive issues shouldn’t be publicly aired; social media sometimes disregards the well-being of those involved.
2baba, I adore you both, but this timing was off. Adding fuel to the fire, burning the mother of your kids who’s already vulnerable is so unempathetic. I’m disappointed.
May you both find inner strength to prioritize your children’s needs. Annie, this storm will pass. Stay strong”.
Recall that media personality, Toke Makinwa weighed in, clarifying that she wouldn’t advise anyone to remain in a situation that no longer serves them.
However, her issue was with 2Baba’s decision to bring the matter to social media, particularly at such a delicate time.
Toke revealed she’s privy to details of what happens behind closed doors that the public isn’t aware of. Reaffirming her support for Annie, she emphasized the importance of timing and hinted that the truth would eventually come to light.
