Pop star Davido has received an apology from musician Portable, real name Habeeb Okikiola, for berating him during the Osun governor’s race.
Glamsquad Magazine recalls that Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram for supporting Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while the singer of “Fall” supported Ademola Adeleke, his uncle and the poll’s eventual winner.
Portable had criticised Davido at the time for unfollowing him on Instagram because of his support for Oyetola.
“Once again, my father is not a rich man. I come from the trenches but managed to bring my family into wealth. So support who support you. They wasted no time in unfollowing us,” he had said.
However, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Portable asked the 29-year-old to forgive him.
“Accept your pass without regrets handle your present with confidence face your future without fear…Akoi apologies to @davido. We no get any issue. Akoi loyalty. Won ti settle eh,” he wrote.
The apology comes after Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi, the Onitigbo of Tigbo-Ilu, told him to beg Davido for forgiveness for his actions during the election.
