After some evening looks signaled the end of the womenswear ride, there was a slight shift into menswear. The music slowed, the lights dimmed, and we found ourselves listening to Chris Janson’s Buy Me A Boat, a sly riposte of a soundtrack choice. Many of the menswear looks were inspired by their female counterparts, including checks, bikers, Swarovski, and attitude, as well as basketball-inspired graffiti’d sportswear.
The bling became increasingly blingier towards the end, and the phrase “Liberace of Streetwear” slipped into my mind as easily as Janson was dripping into my ears. At the end, PP rode his own bike down that massive runway, and the audience applauded as loudly as the exhaust before Bia her thing in front of a massed finale.
Pre-show Plein previously stated that he will travel to Korea, Singapore, and Los Angeles immediately following this show. Backstage, he stated that he has no desire to be on Twitter and expressed genuine amusement when asked if he desires a blue tick. He claimed that the several thousand people waiting outside for the after party were drawn from his 600,000 CRM database of recently engaged customers.
