Mouktar Adamu, the founding editor of Peoples Daily, has died.
After a brief illness, Adamu died on Thursday at the State House Clinic in Abuja.
He stepped down as the News Agency of Nigeria’s (NAN) deputy editor-in-chief (DEIC).
The deceased’s funeral prayer was held at the National Mosque. It was attended by family members, colleagues, and associates, including Garba Shehu, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman.
Former Senate leader Senator Abdul Ningi was also present, as was ex-DMO spokesman Nasir Mahmoud, Daily Trust managing editor Yusuf Zango, and a slew of others.
AbdulHadi Khalil, NAN’s director of administration and human resources, led the agency’s delegation to the funeral at the Gudu cemetery in Abuja.
