‘People would apply to do podcasts if I were President’ – Toolz

On-air personality, Tolu Oniru-Demuren better known as Toolz has disclosed one of her main focuses of work if she has the chance of becoming the president of Nigeria.

In her recent episode of The ‘Off Air Show‘, the mother of two stated that she implement a system where individuals must seek approval before starting their podcasts. She also noted that she would make English proficiency and sanity tests mandatory for aspiring podcasters.

She said

“If I was ever to become President, you will have to apply to do a podcast. You will have to write an English proficiency test and also do a sanity test”.

As podcasting becomes more popular in Nigeria, she pointed out the controversies caused by certain hosts and guests with their provocative statements on social media. Consequently, certain circles within the online community have started calling for censorship of podcasts.
