Penelope Cruz has beaten the likes of Beyonce and Sofia Vergara to be named Esquire magazine ’s number one beauty as they crowned the actress their ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’. The 40-year-old joins the excusive group of girls to have been honoured with the accolade including Mila Kunis, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, Rihanna and last year’s winner Scarlett Johannson who won the title for the second time.
At 40-years old, the Spanish starlet has honestly never been sexier although the nod may come as a bit of a surprise as she has kept off the radar over the past year, hibernating away from the spotlight with her equally sexy hubby Javier Bardem. However, our lack of knowledge regarding her personal life only makes her mystery even sexier and while we may not have pipped her as an obvious choice for the accolade, we couldn’t agree more.
Cruz is currently rumoured to have been lined up for Bond 24’s latest Bond girl, although her lips are sealed we couldn’t think of anyone better to join Daniel Craig in the sequel to 2012’s Skyfall. The actress, who married her hunky Hollywood husband back in 2010 with who she shares two children, declined to comment on her family life to the magazine, saying “That is for us”.
The Vicky Chrsitina and Blow actress also told them that in her 20s she “had an attraction” to drama but “could not be less interested now”. She’ll next be hitting cinemas in the upcoming Spanish- language movie Ma Ma as well as Grimsby where she’ll star alongside Sacha Baron Cohen.
